Louis Baldasseroni

Louis Baldasseroni serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the University of Nîmes, specializing in contemporary history with research concentrations in environmental history, urban history, history of mobilities, and history of infrastructures.

His scholarly work investigates the historical interplay between urban development, environmental transformation, and mobility systems, analyzing how infrastructural evolution shapes modern societal challenges. He examines long-term patterns in urban-environmental dynamics and transportation networks to contextualize current sustainability issues.

Dr. Baldasseroni actively contributes to major research networks:

• Member of the Usages de l’Histoire et devenirs urbains group within Labex Futurs Urbains, focusing on historical perspectives for urban futures
