Roles and Affiliations: Marie-Clotilde Meillerand is a Researcher at the Laboratoire Aménagement Transport Environnement (LAET) within the École Nationale des Travaux Publics de l'État (ENTPE). She is also affiliated with the Résiliterre project (ADEME) and the POPSU/Lyon metropolis platform. She holds the academic rank of Researcher and is qualified to teach in political science and spatial planning. She is based in Lyon, France, and actively contributes to urban and environmental research initiatives.
Education: She earned her Doctorate in Urban History with a thesis titled Penser l’aménagement d’une métropole au 20ème siècle from the University of Lyon (2010). She holds HDR (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) in Political Science from the University of Perpignan. Her academic qualifications span political science and urban planning, with expertise in both historical and contemporary urban studies.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on governance of energy transition, spatial justice, metropolitanization, and urban public action. Key themes include stakeholder interaction in environmental policy, peri-urbanization dynamics, transportation accessibility, and the historical evolution of urban form. She explores how local governments address energy insecurity and socio-spatial inequalities through innovative policies and institutional reforms.
Grants and Projects: She leads projects such as the Résiliterre initiative (2019–2021) on energy insecurity and territorial resilience, and the Labex IMU project (2017–2019) on public policies and environmental issues. She has collaborated on research-action contracts, including studies on urban mobility and goods distribution (2015–2017) and the socio-genesis of urban administration (2010–2015).
Awards: She received the 2012 Young Researcher Award from Lyon for contributions to sustainable development science and engineering.
Teaching: She teaches at Sciences Po Lyon, the Ecole urbaine de Lyon, and ENTPE, covering urban policy, public administration, and contemporary urban challenges. Her courses include Action publique urbaine et enjeux contemporains and Politiques publiques et territoires.
