Françoise THÉLAMON is a Professor of History and Geography specializing in ancient and late antique history, particularly early Christianity and historiography. She served as Director of the GRHis (Groupe de Recherche sur l'Histoire Sociale) from 1983 to 1999 and led the CNRS GDR 'Texts for the History of Late Antiquity' (THAT) from 2000 to 2004. Her academic career includes a Doctorate in Letters from Paris Sorbonne (1978) under H.-I. Marrou, focusing on the historical value of Rufinus of Aquileia's Ecclesiastical History.
