Dr. Bodine Romijn is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Development and Education of Youth in Diverse Societies, Utrecht University. Her research focuses on quality, diversity, and inclusion in early childhood education and care (ECEC), emphasizing organizational contributions and intercultural competencies of professionals.
- 2023 – Present: Assistant Professor, Utrecht University

- 2016 – 2021: PhD in Cultural Inclusion in Early Childhood and Primary Education, Utrecht University
She leads the Dutch National Child Care Monitor (LKK), funded by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, and collaborates on the Utrecht Quality Framework (UKK). Her work with the European Horizon2020 ISOTIS project aimed to combat educational inequality through policy and practice.
Her research expertise includes organizational hybridity in ECEC, intercultural classroom practices, and professional development. She teaches at bachelor’s and master’s levels and contributes to EarlyYearsBlog.nl, bridging science and practice.
