Dr. Bob Sandmeyer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Kentucky, with program faculty affiliation in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. He specializes in the German phenomenological movement and environmental philosophy.
His research examines phenomenological approaches to environmental ethics, philosophical anthropology, and the intersections of human experience with natural systems. Recent work includes critical engagements with ecological investigations through phenomenological frameworks and studies of Max Scheler's philosophy of life and spirit.
Dr. Sandmeyer teaches courses on environmental ethics and phenomenological traditions, maintaining active research collaborations with international scholars through organizations including the Husserl Circle and North American Society for Early Phenomenology.
