Dr. Jason Bell is Professor of Philosophy at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in 19th-20th century phenomenology and pragmatism. He holds a PhD from Vanderbilt University and has taught at KU Leuven, Boston University, and University of Göttingen as Fulbright Professor.
Research explores transatlantic phenomenology through archival studies of Winthrop Bell and Gustav Hübener, funded by SSHRC. Bell edits critical editions of Whitehead and Royce, and investigates phenomenological ethics during the Nazi period.
He teaches courses on Kierkegaard/Nietzsche, Kant, Hegel, Husserl, and Ethics of Life/Death. Bell's international collaborations include directing seminars on Max Scheler's ethics and Josiah Royce's epistemology.
