Binh Bui is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Corporate Governance at Macquarie University, affiliated with the Transforming Energy Markets Research Centre. His research focuses on the intersection of strategy and management control systems, climate change policies, carbon accounting, and risk management. He has published extensively in top accounting journals such as Management Accounting Research and Accounting, Auditing, and Accountability Journal.
His current projects include examining carbon accounting assurance, climate risk disclosures, and the role of accounting in addressing climate challenges. He serves as an Associate Editor for three journals and sits on editorial boards for others. Bui has supervised four PhD students and numerous Masters and Honours students in areas like sustainability accounting and management accounting education.
His research employs both qualitative and quantitative methods, including case studies, surveys, and large-scale statistical analyses. Notable contributions include studies on New Zealand’s Emissions Trading Scheme, carbon management strategies, and climate-related financial disclosures in the UK’s FTSE 100 companies.
