Dr. Betty Witcher is a Professor of Psychology and Chair of the Department of Psychology and Business at William Peace University. She has been with the university since 1999, achieving tenure. Her academic leadership and dedication to teaching have earned her the Alumni Distinguished Professor and McCormick Teaching Award. Dr. Witcher's research focuses on romantic relationships, the impact of technology on social interactions, and student adjustment to college life. She has been actively involved in the Psi Chi Honor Society as a faculty advisor and holds memberships in prestigious societies like Omicron Delta Kappa.
Education: BA Psychology (Texas A&M University), MA and Ph.D. in Social Psychology (UNC-Chapel Hill).
Her research explores the dynamics of romantic and dating relationships, the effects of technology such as texting and cell phone use on interpersonal interactions, and factors influencing college students' academic success and adjustment.
