Amy Lucas

Amy Lucas serves as Associate Professor of Sociology and Women's Studies within the Department of Sociology at the University of Houston-Clear Lake's College of Human Sciences and Humanities. She actively contributes to academic life as faculty advisor for Alpha Kappa Delta, the sociology honor society.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University
• Master's degree and Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2012)

Dr. Lucas's research program centers on family dynamics with specialized expertise in romantic relationships and relationship quality. Her scholarly work integrates perspectives from Women's Studies and examines intersections with social stratification, utilizing robust statistical methodologies. She teaches foundational courses including Family Sociology, Social Stratification, and Statistical Methods.
