Betsy Burleigh is the Thomas R. Kasdorf Professor of Choral Conducting at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music, where she chaired the Choral Conducting Department from 2013 to 2024. She maintains an active dual career in academia and professional conducting, having served as music director of the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh for a decade and guest conducting major orchestras including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
