Dr. Lisa Wong is the Olive Williams Kettering Professor of Music at The College of Wooster, where she directs the award-winning Wooster Chorus. She holds a BS from West Chester University (1991), MM from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music (1997), and DM from Indiana University (2010). Her expertise spans choral conducting, music education, and performance pedagogy, informed by three decades of classroom experience and international collaborations.
As Director of Choruses for The Cleveland Orchestra, she collaborates with renowned conductors like Franz Welser-Möst and John Adams, preparing choruses for major performances. Her work emphasizes repertoire innovation, having premiered 15 new compositions with Wooster Chorus. She actively engages in professional development through national conferences, grant reviews for the National Endowment for the Arts, and international engagements in Kenya and Singapore.
Teaching focuses include conducting techniques, music literature analysis, and educator training. Her dual institutional roles at Wooster and The Cleveland Orchestra bridge academic and professional choral landscapes, fostering both student development and artistic excellence.
