Jonathan Richter serves as Assistant Teaching Professor and Director of Choral Activities at UMass Lowell's College of Fine Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. He directs three ensembles and teaches choral methods, conducting, voice pedagogy, and musicianship. His leadership has fostered collaborations with regional arts organizations and extensive community outreach in public schools and civic venues.

Richter specializes in Choral Music and Music Education, with a career-long focus on advancing music education through youth development. His tenure at New England Conservatory saw youth chorus enrollment triple under his leadership, featuring performances of major works like Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass" and Orff's "Carmina Burana".
He currently directs UMass Lowell's choral program, maintaining strong community partnerships while mentoring student musicians through performance-based learning in three distinct ensembles.
