Bethany Fern Anthony is a Research Officer (Health Economics) at the School of Health Sciences. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Sport, Health and Physical Education, an MSc in Exercise Rehabilitation, and is currently completing a PhD in Health Sciences examining role replacement in primary care by non-medical professionals. Her research focuses on health economics, cost-effectiveness analysis, and healthcare service evaluation.
Key research areas include dementia caregiver support, economic evaluation of healthcare interventions, and policy analysis for aging populations. Her work has contributed to reports like the CHEME 'Living well longer' initiative and the WHO's 'iSupport' program evaluation.
Recent studies involve cost-consequence analyses of e-health interventions for dementia caregivers, micro-costing of grief support programs, and rapid reviews on reablement services and stroke care. Collaborations span academic and policy sectors in Wales and the UK, addressing healthcare accessibility and economic arguments for health investments.
Bethany's PhD is funded by Health and Care Research Wales, and her MSc was supported by KESS (Knowledge Economy Skills Scholarships). She has presented findings at conferences on topics like sight-loss counseling economics and palliative care models.
