معرفی
Dr. Benjamin Partridge is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Sheffield Hallam University's Institute of Social Sciences. His research focuses on professional experiences of death, dying, and bereavement, alongside forensic psychology interventions. He leads the Qualitative Research in Social Science (QRISS) group and contributes to interdisciplinary teaching across Education, Criminology, and Business courses.
His research spans three strands:
- Death and Bereavement Psychology — examining SEN staff's lived experiences following student deaths and academic HE staff responses to sudden student deaths.
- Forensic Psychology — evaluating youth interventions, sexual violence support, and violence reduction programs in collaboration with organizations like Sheffield Violence Reduction Unit and the Ministry of Justice.
- Qualitative Methodology — applying IPA (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis) to diverse fields including cyber psychology and social psychology.
His recent publications highlight disenfranchised grief in SEN contexts (2025), gender dynamics in construction (2024), ghosting behavior (2024), and pandemic-driven online dating trends (2023). These works emphasize qualitative exploration of trauma, social inequality, and behavioral patterns.
He supervises psychology PhD and postgraduate students, integrating qualitative approaches into studies on neurodivergence, organizational psychology, and women's equalities. Collaborative projects include service evaluations for victim-survivors and trauma-informed practice development.
