Dr. Jo Bell is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Psychology and Social Work at the University of Hull. Her research focuses on mental health, suicide prevention, trauma, and loss, with a particular emphasis on the role of digital media in bereavement and suicide postvention. She has led projects funded by the Wellcome Trust, Department of Health, and NHS, and contributed to WHO guidelines on suicide reporting. Dr. Bell is affiliated with the International Association for Suicide Prevention and the International Death Online Research Network.

Research Interests: suicide prevention strategies, digital memorialization, youth mental health, social media's impact on grief, and postvention service evaluation. Her work explores how digital platforms reshape bereavement practices and inform policy.
