Gina Subia Belton, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Mind-Body Medicine Department at Saybrook University. She serves as a Specialization Coordinator for the Contemplative End-of-Life Care Specialization and teaches across the Transformative Social Change, Integrative Social Work, and Humanistic Psychology programs. Her work integrates decolonial praxis, contemplative pedagogies, and Indigenous epistemologies.
- Research Focus: Ethnothanatology, ethnogeriatrics, qualitative methods (Indigenous, narrative inquiry, autoethnography), and decolonizing research approaches.
- Professional Roles: Inaugural Chair of the President's JEDI Council, Buddhist Chaplain trainee at Upaya Institute, private practice in palliative psychology and spiritual midwifery.
- Community Engagement: Founder of Death Cafe, Humboldt; active in Indigenous mental health, suicide prevention/postvention; member of the Humboldt Suicide Prevention Network.
