Dr. Alfonso Ferguson is a core faculty member in the Department of Counseling at Saybrook University, specializing in culturally responsive counseling practices. He holds licenses as a Mental Health Counselor in NY, NJ, and FL, with expertise in LGBTQ+ Afro-Caribbean experiences, Black counselor education, and adoption microaggressions. His teaching philosophy emphasizes social justice through strength-based approaches, facilitation, and real-world application.
Education includes a Ph.D. from Montclair State University (2020), M.A. and B.A. from the University of South Florida (2013/2010).
