Dae’Quawn Landrum is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Counselor Education at Kean University. His work focuses on supporting marginalized communities, particularly underrepresented and underserved populations. He serves as co-faculty advisor for the Chi Sigma Iota’s Kappa Upsilon Nu chapter.
Landrum holds a Ph.D. in Counseling from Montclair State University, an M.A. in Mental Health Counseling and a B.S. in Government from Bowie State University, along with a post-baccalaureate certificate in Addictions Counseling.
His research interests include LGBTQ+ affirmative counseling, racial identity development, and culturally responsive practices. His publications span topics such as transgender lifespan development, same-gender loving Black male relationships, and racial trauma linked to police violence.
Landrum teaches courses like Theories of Counseling and Group Counseling. Though no scientific awards are listed, his contributions to mental health advocacy and counseling education are notable. He advises student organizations and contributes to the department’s mission of training counselors for diverse populations.
