Behrooz Ferdowsi is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Houston. His research bridges computational mechanics, granular physics, and Earth surface processes, with a focus on geohazard prediction and soil mechanics.

- Computational modeling using DEM, CFD-DEM, and FEM
- Frictional instability in landslides, earthquakes, and glacial systems
