Begum Kaplan, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Marketing at Nova Southeastern University. With a focus on prosocial marketing, her research explores consumer behavior intersections with artificial intelligence, religion, and emotional priming (particularly awe) to enhance societal well-being.
- Ph.D. in Marketing from University of Massachusetts Amherst
- M.B.A. in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University
- B.A./B.S. in Global and International Relations from SUNY Binghamton University and Bilkent University
Her research integrates three streams: (1) AI trust dynamics, (2) religion's influence on consumer morality, and (3) awe-driven prosocial behaviors. Recent publications examine awe's role in environmental sustainability and AI's ethical implications in brand evaluations.
Conference presentations (2016-2024) highlight collaborations with scholars like Elizabeth Miller and Easwar Iyer, focusing on topics from virtual environment deception to emotion-driven consumer ethics. She teaches courses such as Marketing Decisions for Managers and Professional Selling and Sales Management.
