Dr. Barnabas Otoo is a Professor of Chemistry at Bridgewater College, where he specializes in organic chemistry, chemical biology, and synthetic methodologies. He holds a B.Sc. from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), M.S. from East Tennessee State University, and Ph.D. from Purdue University. His research focuses on carbon capture, drug synthesis (e.g., antibiotics), and stereochemistry education, often involving undergraduate students in collaborative projects. Dr. Otoo has published extensively in journals like Journal of Chemical Education and presented at ACS National Meetings. He currently oversees labs in McKinney Hall and mentors students in research grants and conference presentations.
- Education: B.Sc. (University of Cape Coast), M.S. (East Tennessee State), Ph.D. (Purdue)
- Research: Carbon capture/utilization, synthetic organic methods, drug analogs, and stereochemistry education
