Prof. Dr. Axel Beater is the Chair of Civil Law, Commercial Law, and Media Law at the Faculty of Law and Economics, University of Greifswald. He has held this position since 1996 and was involved in academic administration, serving as Dean (2008-2010) and Chair of the Self-Regulation Commission in Academia (2012-2020). His research focuses on Tort Law, Competition Law, Media Law, and Intellectual Property, with a particular emphasis on the interplay between civil law frameworks and modern media/competition dynamics.
