Dr. Audrey Heppleston is an Associate Professor in Biomedical Science at the University of East Anglia's School of Biological Sciences. She serves as Deputy Director for the Applied Biomedical Science Programme, an IBMS-accredited degree apprenticeship that prepares NHS healthcare workers to become HCPC-regulated Biomedical Scientists. She coordinates modules including Skills for Biomedical Scientists (BIO-4120X) and Professional Practice (BIO-6132X), while also teaching on Cell Biology (BIO-5005B) and Investigation of Human Disease (BIO-5016B) modules.
As leader of the Teaching Theme in the School of Biological Sciences, Dr. Heppleston heads a group of approximately 20 academic staff focused on teaching and scholarship. Her work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals through educational initiatives. Her background includes developing training documentation for ISO standards and cemetery management prior to joining academia.
