Ian Davies is an Associate Professor in Health Sciences at Staffordshire University, with a dual background in clinical biomedical science and medical education. Previously, he spent 20 years in NHS roles including lead biomedical scientist and operational manager at Mid Staffordshire NHS Trust, while concurrently holding academic positions part-time since 2008. His expertise spans clinical pathology, healthcare education innovation, and workforce development. He holds HCPC registration in Haematology/Transfusion Science and Clinical Chemistry, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science, Higher Education Academy, and Royal Society of Biology.
Education: BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science (University of Wolverhampton, 1996), MSc Biomedical Science (Wolverhampton, 2000), PGCert Medical Education (Keele University, 2012), Clinical Academic Internship (University of Birmingham, 2015).
Research Focus: Innovations in biomedical education, quality improvement methodologies, point-of-care testing optimization, and pre-analytical variables impacting diagnostic accuracy.
