Tahmina Hussain serves as a Lecturer in Biomedical Science and Programme Lead for the Applied Biomedical Science Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Salford's School of Science, Engineering & Environment. A HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist since 2010 specializing in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, she brings extensive clinical leadership experience including roles as Biomedical Scientist Team Manager and Pathology Training Coordinator.
Her research focuses on pedagogy within biomedical science education, particularly simulation-based learning strategies that bridge theoretical knowledge with clinical application. Key innovations include high-impact simulation activities aligned with HCPC standards, interprofessional education initiatives with nursing students, and a VR training app developed with NHS Blood and Transplant.
