Attilio Pisano

Attilio Pisano is a Full Professor of Philosophy of Law at the University of Salento’s Department of Legal Sciences. He holds multiple leadership roles, including Vice-Director of the Department (responsible for teaching), President of the Degree Course in Sports Law and Management, and Delegate for the Rector’s Educational Offer. His expertise spans Philosophy of Law, Human Rights, and Bioethics, with research focusing on transnational climate litigation, climate law, strategic litigation, and the recognition of new rights. He contributes to interdisciplinary initiatives like the UniSalento+ Project and chairs the PRIN 2022 research unit on intergenerational trust. Pisano is also a member of the Center for Bioethics and Human Rights, the International Center for Migration Studies, and the CRUI Universities for Peace Network. He has taught at institutions worldwide, including universities in Colombia, Spain, and Portugal.

His academic leadership extends to PhD programs in Rights and Sustainability (University of Salento) and Peace Studies (La Sapienza University). He serves on editorial boards, including Eunomia (Peace and Human Rights) and Studies on Racisms and Discriminations. As a Principal Researcher for the Political Terror Scale (North Carolina University) and Special Rapporteur for Italy in climate legal tactics projects, he advances global legal discourse. Visiting professorships and international collaborations highlight his commitment to transnational legal scholarship.
