Dr. Iva Atanasković is a Researcher in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade. Her work focuses on molecular mechanisms of microorganism-host interactions, particularly exploring the role of Type III Secretion Systems (T3SS) in non-pathogenic Pseudomonas species and their biocontrol and biostimulatory potential for agricultural applications.
- Doctor of Science (University of Oxford, 2021)
- Master of Biology (University of Belgrade, 2018)
- Diploma in Biology, Molecular Biology and Physiology (University of Belgrade, 2016)
Her research spans:
- Molecular microbiology and bacterial transport systems
- Biocontrol mechanisms for plant protection
- Biostimulatory effects of microbial symbionts
- Microbiome analysis of sugar beet and tomato
- Characterization of pyocin uptake pathways
Key trends in her publications (2014-2025) include:
- Investigating T3SS in non-pathogenic Pseudomonas
- Elucidating pyocin translocation mechanisms
- Developing biocontrol agents for agricultural use
- Exploring bacterial competition systems
