معرفی
Astrid Lægreid is a Professor in the Department of Cancer Research and Molecular Medicine at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Her research focuses on systems biology, functional genomics, and interdisciplinary approaches integrating humanities, science, and technology. She leads the project 'Rational development of anti-cancer drug combinations' and collaborates on initiatives like 'Crossover Research' and 'COLOSYS'.
Education: Studied biochemistry, mathematics, and musicology at the University of Oslo, earning a Master's (1982) and PhD (1985) in biochemistry. Her postdoctoral work shifted to molecular biology in cancer research. She played a pivotal role in establishing Norway's functional genomics research program and led NTNU's node in the National Consortium of Microarray Technology.
Leadership roles include Vice Dean of Research at NTNU's Medical Faculty (1996–1999) and Prorector for Research and Innovation (2005–2009). Her work emphasizes epistemic and socio-ethical dimensions of scientific research, particularly in transitioning from traditional molecular biology to systems biology frameworks.
Research Themes: Systems biology applications in medicine, interdisciplinary methodologies, and ethical considerations in genomics. Current projects aim to develop novel anti-cancer therapies through drug combination strategies.
Labs/Teams: Involved in NTNU's functional genomics platform and collaborates across disciplines within the Medical Faculty.
