Young Cho

Dr. Young Cho is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the College of Pharmacy, Marshall B. Ketchum University. He also holds affiliations with University Eye Center at Ketchum Health Anaheim, Los Angeles, and the Ketchum Health Medical Clinic. His roles include teaching pharmacology, biochemistry, and related disciplines, alongside leading research initiatives.

Education: PhD in Pharmacology from the University of Wisconsin Medical School (2017). Postdoctoral training as a Beckman Fellow at the Beckman Research Institute, focusing on drug discovery and gene regulation.

Research Interests:

1. Anti-neoplastic effects of natural products: Investigating plant extracts' cytostatic actions on mammary carcinoma in vitro, identifying molecular targets and active ingredients. Explores genomic and non-genomic effects via microarray analysis, with a focus on immunological surveillance mechanisms.

2. Insulin-mimetic effects of orphan nuclear receptors: Examining synthetic ligands and bile acids' roles in enhancing insulin receptor sensitivity through molecular signaling pathways.

Awards: Beckman Fellow (postdoctoral).

Teaching & Service: Teaches core medical science courses, including pharmacology and cancer biology. Actively contributes to curriculum development and interdisciplinary research collaborations.
