Ashley J. Bohrer is an Assistant Professor of Gender and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs, where she is a core faculty member of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. Her research focuses on the intersections of oppression, exploitation, and power structures under contemporary capitalism, integrating critical Marxist, feminist, queer, and decolonial frameworks.
- Education: PhD in Philosophy (2016) from DePaul University; multi-year postdoctoral fellowship in public philosophy at Hamilton College.
- Research: Explores relationships between race, gender, sexuality, class, capitalism, and imperialism. Authored the book Marxism and Intersectionality: Race, Gender, Class, and Sexuality under Contemporary Capitalism and articles in journals like Race & Class and Interventions: A Journal of Postcolonial Studies. Currently translating Françoise Vergès' Towards a Decolonial Feminism into English.
