Ann Mische is an Associate Professor of Sociology and Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame's Keough School of Global Affairs, with a joint appointment in the Department of Sociology. She is a core faculty member at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and a faculty fellow at the Kellogg Institute for International Studies.
Her research bridges social movements, democratic politics, and futures thinking, focusing on communication, deliberation, and leadership in the Global South. A scholar of Brazilian youth politics, she explores how anti-partisanship shapes protest waves and how scenario planning drives transnational political change.
Mische's work spans cultural sociology, network analysis, and political theory, with recent publications on futures in contention and pragmatist methodologies. She has received multiple ASA Best Article Awards and the James A. Burns Graduate School Award (2025) for exceptional mentorship.
