Arthur Hartkamp is a Professor of European Private Law at Radboud University Nijmegen since 2006. He has held prominent legal roles, including Procureur General and Advocate General at the Dutch Supreme Court (1986–2006), and contributed to the revision of the Dutch Civil Code (1974–1989).
- Research Focus: European private law, comparative contract law, EU treaty law’s influence on national law, and legal harmonization.
- Honors: Member of the Senate of the European Law Institute (2011), Honorary Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (2010), and Foreign member of the American Law Institute (1995).
