Mikhel Timmerman is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University's Willem Pompe Institute for Criminal Law and Criminology. His work bridges Dutch criminal law with EU law and the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR). Prior to joining Utrecht University in October 2024, he held positions at Radboud University Nijmegen and served as a Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of the Netherlands (Hoge Raad).
