Anusha Balangoda is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Pittsburgh. Her work focuses on harmful algal blooms, nutrient dynamics, and aquatic ecosystem management.

Her work spans 2006–2018, with articles analyzing artificial circulation impacts on eutrophic lakes, nitrate toxicity in amphibians, nutrient cycling in reservoirs, and water quality assessments in Sri Lanka and the Great Plains.
