Natalie Flores is a PhD Student in Natural Resources at the University of Vermont (UVM), affiliated with the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources. Her research focuses on understanding the ecological impacts of harmful cyanobacterial blooms in aquatic systems, including their effects on water quality, fish physiology, and air contamination.
Her doctoral dissertation integrates global datasets and field sampling to investigate the environmental patterns of cyanobacteria and their bioactive chemical products. This work aims to characterize human exposure pathways to cyanobacterial toxins and assess bloom-driven changes in fish nutritional value through fatty acid composition.
