Antonella Micolani is an Associate Professor and Researcher in the Department of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Salento, affiliated with the Faculty of Languages and Letters. She holds offices at the former Olivetan Monastery in Lecce, Italy. Her research focuses on medieval Christian texts, manuscript traditions, and historical interactions between Constantinople and Amalfi. She is actively involved in editorial work for the Medioevo Latino and has led key projects like the 2012 PRIN initiative on the Latin Middle Ages.
Research Interests
Her work spans:
- Translations of Greek hagiographic texts into Latin
- Manuscript analysis of Liber de Miraculis by Giovanni Monaco
- Early Christian heretical movements (2nd–4th centuries)
- Gregory the Great's concept of sequela Christi
