Anoo Bhopti is a Senior Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Monash University and Course Director of the Master of Occupational Therapy program within the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences. She is also a research affiliate at Monash Health and an affiliate at La Trobe University. Her work bridges clinical practice and research in paediatrics, focusing on early childhood intervention, childhood disability, and family-centered approaches. She actively contributes to the development of national guidelines for best practices in early childhood intervention and collaborates internationally on projects addressing global citizenship education and disability inclusion.
Research Interests: Her research emphasizes childhood disability, family quality of life, autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing in children, and evidence-based occupational therapy interventions. Current projects include the "We Care" and "Now and Next" programs, which aim to enhance parental support and improve family well-being through peer-led initiatives. She is also engaged in studies on cerebral palsy interventions, disability workforce supervision, and the impact of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Awards: Dr. Bhopti has been recognized with prestigious awards including the Bob Schalock Quality of Life Award (2019) and the Research Impact Award (2024). Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education).
Grants & Collaborations: She leads or co-leads multiple grants, including projects on disability support worker supervision and learning trajectories in motor development. Her international collaborations span institutions in Vietnam, India, and other regions, reflecting her commitment to global health equity and education.
Labs & Teams: As part of Monash Health and La Trobe University affiliations, she collaborates with multidisciplinary teams on projects such as the National Centre of Excellence in Intellectual Disability Health and early intervention for childhood dementia. Her editorial roles include serving as an Associate Editor for BMJ Paediatrics Open.
