Becca Allchin is a Research Fellow at Monash University's School of Rural Health and part-time FaPMI Coordinator at Eastern Health's Mental Health and Wellbeing Program. With 30 years in mental health services and 20 years in research-driven practice change, her expertise spans family-focused interventions, implementation science, and international development. She holds a PhD (2020) from Monash University on sustainability in family-focused practice.
Education: Doctorate (Monash University, 2020), MAVP Aid and Development (2014), BAAPPSC Occupational Therapy (La Trobe University, 1990).
Research focuses on translating evidence into practice for families affected by parental mental illness. Key projects include leading the Prato International Research Collaborative's initiative on sustainable interventions and contributing to the National Workforce Centre for Child Mental Health. Her work aligns with UN SDGs for health and well-being.
Collaborations span global stakeholders, with recent publications exploring self-determination in parents with mental illness and redefining risk frameworks in family mental health. She co-authored standards for mental health workforce practices and is a lead investigator on two funded projects.
