Dr. Anne Grant is a Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen's University Belfast, within the Faculty of Medicine, Health & Life Sciences. Her research focuses on parental mental illness and its impact on children, emphasizing family-focused practices in healthcare and social services. She leads international collaborations through the Prato International Research Collaborative and contributes to initiatives like the NI Think Family Action Plan. Dr. Grant has pioneered eLearning programs on family-centered care and authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications.
Her professional roles include Link Lecturer for clinical placements in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust, Associate Editor for Advances in Mental Health, and member of key committees such as the NI Think Family Social Work Leads Group. Dr. Grant has secured £9 million in research funding, including major projects like the Youth Wellbeing Prevalence Study and the development of digital case studies for Norwegian mental health training.
Her research spans maternal mental health, intervention design, and workforce capacity building. Recent work addresses the prevalence and risk factors of parental mental health problems, with findings influencing policy and practice in Northern Ireland and beyond. Dr. Grant actively supervises postgraduate students and teaches mental health nursing at the undergraduate level.
