Annie Scudds is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Chester, affiliated with the Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow and has held academic roles since 2015. Her research focuses on psychological wellbeing through physical activity, wearable technology effects, and consumer perception studies.
Education: BSc Psychology (University of Montreal), PhD Psychology (University of Glasgow), MSc Occupational Psychology (Liverpool John Moores University), and PG Certificate in HE teaching.
Research interests include: physical activity impacts on cognition, wearable device efficacy, consumer packaging psychology, visual perception studies, and healthy eating behavior. She leads the Health and Wellbeing Research and Knowledge Exchange Institute.
Teaching responsibilities include core BPS modules like 'Understanding the Mind', postgraduate research skills, and dissertation supervision. She supervises MRes and PhD students. Recent research outputs analyze wearable tracker effects on exercise and wellbeing, with a focus on methodological innovations in remote experimentation.
