Lara Spiteri-Cornish is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at Coventry Business School, part of Coventry University’s Faculty of Business & Law. She teaches Consumer Behaviour (UG and PG), Communication Psychology (UG), and supervises undergraduate and PhD students. Her research focuses on consumer behavior, healthy eating patterns, and the psychological impact of public policy communications, particularly using semiotics to influence health behaviors. She previously held roles as Capacity Building Lead and currently leads Research-Inspired Teaching initiatives.
Qualifications include a PhD from Warwick Business School (2009), an MSc from the University of Bath (2002), and a PGCHE from the University of Malta (2000). Her expertise spans consumer behavior, communication psychology, and advertising, with a focus on health-related decision-making and regulatory communication strategies.
Her research explores barriers to healthy eating, self-regulation mechanisms, and the effectiveness of policy communications. She has published on topics such as consumer confusion in nutrition literacy and parental responses to children’s online advertising.
