Annie Gibson is an Administrative Assistant Professor at Tulane University's Center for Global Education and Director of Study Abroad. Her academic affiliation is through the Stone Center for Latin American Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Latin American Studies (Tulane, 2010), M.A. (Tulane, 2007), and B.A. in Spanish and Latino Studies from Dartmouth College (2003).
Her research focuses on intercultural performance, migration studies, and study abroad pedagogy. Key projects include analyzing Brazilian immigrant communities in New Orleans (e.g., Post-Katrina Brazucas), co-authoring Hispanic and Latino New Orleans, and examining literary saraus in São Paulo. She connects her scholarship to administrative roles, emphasizing student mobility and intercultural development in global education programs.
