Annette Sorensen is a Teaching Fellow in Pharmacology and Biochemistry at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences (SIPBS), serving as Director of the international Biochemistry and Pharmacology (Honours) programme with China Pharmaceutical University (CPU). She coordinates academic activities for 64-96 students annually, focusing on curriculum development and student support.
Her research emphasizes public health education, cancer prevention, and HPV-associated cancers through collaborations with Public Health Scotland and NHS Lanarkshire. She pioneered the use of chick embryo chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) models as ethical alternatives to rodent models in teaching.
