Anne Warner La Forest is a Professor at the Faculty of Law, University of New Brunswick. She holds an LLB from the University of New Brunswick and an LLM from Cambridge University. Her career includes private practice at Fraser & Beatty (now Dentons) in Toronto, faculty positions at Dalhousie University, and deanship at UNB Law (1996–2004). She has been a Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School and a Scholar-in-Residence at Canada's Department of Justice.
Her research explores property law, international human rights, conflict of laws, and corporate governance. She focuses on the intersection of national legal systems with international frameworks, particularly in extradition and human rights compliance.
Her publications emphasize trends in international law application within domestic contexts, Canadian jurisprudence, and evidentiary standards in cross-border disputes. Key themes include sovereignty, legal harmonization, and human rights advocacy.
