Anna Robins is a Lecturer in Midwifery within the School of Health at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), where she has taught since 2019. With over 30 years of clinical nursing experience and 15 years in midwifery practice, she brings extensive practical knowledge to her academic role. She is also pursuing a PhD at the University of Queensland focusing on weight stigma reduction in maternity care.
Her research examines weight stigma in maternity settings, midwifery education methodologies, and breastfeeding support practices. She employs mixed-methods approaches to develop interventions that increase empathy among midwives and improve care experiences for diverse patient populations.
She has received recognition as an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2022) and won Best Oral Presentation at the Queensland Perinatal Consortium Conference (2025). Her teaching portfolio includes:
