Anna Mae Diehl

Anna Mae Diehl, MD, is the Florence McAlister Distinguished Professor of Medicine at Duke University School of Medicine. She specializes in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), previously termed non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), and alcoholic liver disease. Her research employs a bedside-to-bench-to-bedside approach to understand pathogenesis mechanisms such as innate immune dysregulation, microbiome abnormalities, and cell death mediators.
