Anna Kawalek

Dr. Anna Kawalek is a Senior Lecturer in Law at Leeds Beckett University, where she serves as Module Leader for the core LLB Public Law module. She holds academic affiliations with Leeds Law School and has led research initiatives in therapeutic jurisprudence. Her career spans roles at Sheffield Hallam University (2015–2018) and Leeds Beckett, where she advanced from Law Lecturer (2018) to Senior Lecturer (2020).

Dr. Kawalek’s research focuses on justice innovation, problem-solving courts, and therapeutic jurisprudence, with a book publication in this field. She also explores epistemology and its application to empirical legal research, complemented by an MRes in methods. She co-founded and co-chairs the UK Chapter for Therapeutic Jurisprudence and serves on the Advisory Board of the International Society of Therapeutic Jurisprudence, influencing national and global discourse.
