Anna Gäfvert is a Lecturer in Visual Arts at Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design, teaching within the Teacher Education Programme. Born in Sweden in 1974, she maintains an active dual practice as both educator and ceramic artist, with recent exhibition work including Listening to an Anthill (May 21-27, 2022).
Her research explores the philosophical dimensions of ceramic forms, particularly vases as vessels for expressing non-verbal subjectivity and human/non-human relationships. Through sculptural anthill metaphors and intuitive creation processes, she investigates themes of presence, resistance against rigid order, and knowledge growth through material cracks—emphasizing how sensory language bridges nature and artifacts. This practice spans Ceramics, Sculpture, and Material Philosophy within Visual Arts education.
Gäfvert's work manifests through physical exhibitions rather than academic publications, with her 2022 installation depicting vases as 'swarming ants with black holes' that challenge conventional form through organic passages and protective openings. She maintains professional engagement via Instagram (@annagafvertkeramik) and direct contact channels without documented awards or formal advising roles.
