Dana C. Tupa is Professor of Ceramic Sculpture and Chair of the Visual Arts Division at Jacksonville University's School of Art & Design. An award-winning artist, her work on the ephemerality of memory has been exhibited throughout the U.S., specializing in sculptural ceramics and wheel-thrown alterations that explore communal memory through ceramic quilts and offering bowls.
Education:
- M.F.A. from Tulane University
- B.F.A. from Texas Women’s University
Tupa's research examines how ceramic forms serve as vessels for record-keeping and memory preservation. Her groundbreaking ceramic quilts, exhibited at the National Quilt Museum alongside textile collections, bridge ceramic and textile traditions. She has presented at national conferences including the National San Angelo Ceramic Symposium and National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts.

As department chair, Tupa mentors students and promotes interdisciplinary learning. She operates Ginger Bridge Studio in Tennessee and has secured grants including the Artist Enhancement Grant for her ceramic research.
