Anna Dean

Anna Dean serves as Adjunct Faculty of Fine Arts and Coordinator for The Creator Space at Winthrop University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. She also contributes to ACSM's design team for public art and wayfinding systems, and previously held a 2021 Artist Residency at Charlotte's McColl Center in partnership with Atrium Health System.

Dean's artistic practice investigates the tension between chaos and order through sculpture, installation, video, and mixed media. She integrates digital and analog processes to explore concepts beyond linguistic boundaries, creating large-scale public works exhibited nationally and internationally—including Miracle Park in Rock Hill, SC (recipient of a Universal Design gold medal).

At Winthrop, Dean teaches Drawing and 2D media studies while managing the interdisciplinary CreatorSpace technology lab. Her studio practice serves as a primary mode of understanding the world, reflecting her identity as both educator and working artist.
